“The Busters’ are back on the Map!

National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) Western Region’s (W/R) Map of full participation of the regional event, Winter Carnival 2012.

Whistler/Blackcomb welcomed NBS and SnowBusters Ski Club (SBSC) with open arms. SBSC had a total of 28 adults and one youth who schlepped across from all parts of the United States to converge upon Canada. SBSC welcomed into the Buster’s family, members from Texas Ski Rangers, Capital Ski, Southern Snow Seekers, Winter Fox and persons who were just looking to have a good time.

Our Amazing Race team of “The Professor”, Mr. Douglas Bolton, “Powderhound”, Mr. Todd Hood, “Mz Law” Belinda, “The Racer by the rules only”, Mr. Nat Powers and “the Un-photographer man” since he was on vacation, Mr. Joseph Janisse, gave all comers a run for their money. SBSC unfortunately got beat out by the team from the NBS W/R V. P.’s club. – Really? Hmmm? I’m just saying.

But Todd and Melinda took one for the SBSC team and won the last club challenge (a free registration for Winter Carnival 2013) when playing “Jenga ” with those monstrous larger than your hand wooden blocks someone must have just cut from the timber off the ski runs!
Ok, let’s see. For those of you that didn’t make it on this trip – what did you miss?

You missed the great “30’s” bearable weather on arrival day with the no snow/slush on the resort village ground, to the snowed all Friday night and through Saturday’s picnic on the hill.

You missed the great happy hours with food, door prizes and a D. J. who made the Wobble Wobble the NBS W/R theme song for the extended Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend.

W/R hosted two themed events; first a club colors meet and greet night with door prizes and food, a second night of Denim & White Casino night with door prizes, food and the big money chip winner won a pair of airline tickets. Yes-AIRLINE TICKETS! A “Condo Crawl” featuring SBSC’s signature drink “Kym” (Belvedere vodka, cranberry and a splash of O.J.) and our featured game of choice – Guesstures (what the heck are they doing??? game of charades). SBSC’s “this is how we do it” – Sip & Body Dip Hot Tub /wine toast, First, 3rd Annual storytelling party. Ok, so you never made it to the wine toast part of the festivities, but made it out & in your bathing suits and drank up all the “Kym”. Lol

I hear that that the powder was awesome for those skiers and boarders (I only peeked at the run’s from the gondola). A very nice commemorative breakfast for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., featuring speakers from our Busters’ family; Miss Kathy Geathers and Mr. Douglas Bolton. Buster’s!!!!! And yes, that was Me with the tears, slobber and sniffling during the choir rendition of “I pray for you, I need you to survive”. So, even though it sounds like NBS W/R had all of the time wrapped up – some of our Busters’ still found time to Zip line and snow mobile, Boo yah!
